China is a huge country, the size of Europe and if you are planning to travel around China you will need to be prudent with what to pack.

International flights usually allow 23 kg of luggage if you booked in economy class (The luggage limit is higher with seat upgrades) In China, domestic flights are allowing only 20 kg per passenger. The checking staff are very quick to charge you so be prepared to pay a considerable amount of money if your luggage is over 20 kg.
There is no weight limit for luggage on a cruise ship, and you will have a baggage rack in your room. Even if you have a large and heavy suitcase you can hire porters to send your bags from the port to your room on the ship. There is a charge for this service.
The cruise itineraries are very port- intensive so be prepared for walking. Pack a pair of hard-soled comfortable and well use pair of shoes. If you pack new ones they would need time to adjust.
While cruising on the Yangtze River the weather can change quickly. Take a warm cardigan and small umbrella. Or waterproof jacket. If you are restricted with your weight luggage or forgot to pack one, do not worry. You can always buy each item very cheaply.

Take along a plug adapter. Electricity aboard all our ships is 220 volts and 110 volts in the bathroom. The wattage may not be compatible with your hair dryer. If you forget adapter you don’t have to worry as video cameras, digital cameras and other electrical appliances can be recharged at the front desk.

Take cash with you when going for port sightseeing. You are in a remote part of China where you will meet local farmers, craft makers who are willing to sell you their product but they do not take cards. Although cards are accepted on board.
